Taxes aren’t a flat percentage. They change based on your income, expenses, family, and even how you work. We take all of that into account automatically.

Here’s what we factor in to make sure you only pay what you owe—and not a dollar more:

✅ Freelance income

We detect all deposits landing in your WorkMade account, no matter the platform.

👥 Family and household

From onboarding, we know whether you:

  • Have a spouse

  • Have children or dependents

  • File jointly or solo

These change your effective tax rate.

💼 Full-time job (if any)

If you also have a W-2 job, we factor in taxes already withheld by your employer so you’re not double-paying.

🏡 Home office deductions

If you work from home, we scan your linked accounts for:

  • Rent or mortgage

  • Utilities

  • Phone and internet

  • Work-related purchases

We calculate IRS-eligible deductions automatically.

🚗 Vehicle use

Drive for work? You don’t have to track every trip. We estimate your usage based on the type of work you do and how often you drive—and deduct accordingly.

💡 The more accurate your onboarding answers, the better your savings. But don’t worry—you can update them anytime in the app.
